    treatment plants based on the root zone method have been widely and successfully used for over 3 decades to treat heavily loaded and toxic wastewater In the past totally unexpected results occurred especially concerning the degradation of nitrogen compounds from wastewater The mechanisms dealing with these degradation processes have remained unclear until now The following presentation shows the results from a wastewater treatment plant working with the root zone method

    worrying dimensions in our country and worldwide In the frame of general effort for the application of technologies that minimises the repercussions in the environment the Root Zone Method appears to be an important method of wastewater treatment that follows the processes of nature The method is based on the collaboration of plants soil microorganisms that contribute to the complete cleaning of wastewater The method is implemented successfully in a production unit of catering and restaurant products at Avlona of Attica The qualitative changes of the inorganic and organic charge of wastewater have been studied at the entry and at the outlet of the treatment unit of the artificial wetland The basic research scope was to investigate the chemical constitution of the processed wastewater and the potentiality of its disposal for various uses An important degradation of organic charges has been noted which is reflected in the high rate of COD reduction at 88 and BOD5 at 92 A reduction of the nutritious elements NO3 NH4 NO2 and PO4 has been observed at 29 57 24 and 51 respectively The hardness and the ions Ca2 Mg2 HCO3 Cl and SO42 are characterized for their augmentative tendency The results of the

  • Ριζοτεχνική | Ποιοτικός έλεγχος και δυνατότητα χρήσης επεξεργασμένου λύματος με τη μέθοδο του «Ριζικού Συστήματος»
    ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ Το θέμα της διαχείρισης των αποβλήτων έχει λάβει πλέον ανησυχητικές διαστάσεις στην χώρα μας και παγκοσμίως Στα πλαίσια της γενικής προσπάθειας για την εφαρμογή τεχνολογιών που ελαχιστοποιούν τις επιπτώσεις στο περιβάλλον ως μία σημαντική μέθοδος επεξεργασίας υγρών αποβλήτων που ακολουθεί τις διεργασίες της φύσης προβάλλει η Μέθοδος του Ριζικού Συστήματος Η μέθοδος βασίζεται στην κοινή συνεργασία φυτών εδάφους μικροοργανισμών που συμβάλλουν στον πλήρη καθαρισμό του υγρού απόβλητου Η μέθοδος εφαρμόζεται επιτυχώς σε μονάδα παρασκευής προϊόντων εστίασης στον Αυλώνα Αττικής Μελετήθηκαν οι ποιοτικές μεταβολές του ανόργανου και οργανικού φορτίου του υγρού απόβλητου κατά την είσοδο και κατά την έξοδο από την μονάδα επεξεργασίας του τεχνητού υγρότοπου Βασικός σκοπός της έρευνας υπήρξε η διερεύνηση της χημικής σύστασης του επεξεργασμένου αποβλήτου και η δυνατότητα διάθεσης αυτού για διάφορες χρήσεις Διαπιστώνεται σημαντική αποικοδόμηση του οργανικού φορτίου που αντικατοπτρίζεται στο υψηλό ποσοστό μείωσης του COD κατά 88 και του BOD5 κατά 92 Παρατηρείται μείωση των θρεπτικών στοιχείων NO3 NH4 και NO2 και PO4 κατά 29 57 24 και 51 αντίστοιχα ενώ η σκληρότητα και τα ιόντα Ca2 Mg2 HCO3 Cl και SO42 χαρακτηρίζονται για τις αυξητικές τους τάσεις Τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας επιβεβαιώνουν την άριστη λειτουργικότητα ενός φιλικού προς το περιβάλλον συστήματος επεξεργασίας υγρών
