    Centre Xanthi Individual work forms an important part of both the summer schools and individual visits which provide opportunities to develop case studies or research projects proposed by participants under expert supervision We welcome applications from individuals with a scientific interest and ability to benefit from training in archaeological research data management Sponsorship is available up to 800 euros per participant to cover the cost of travel and accommodation plus a tuition fee waiver Bursaries are awarded on a competitive basis and based upon the quality of the applicant their proposed project and their personal statement 5 10 bursaries are available from ARIADNE in 2015 for each TNA centre ARIADNE Summer Schools are open to all researchers at a tuition fee of 500 euros A maximum of 20 participants is planned for each summer school ARIADNE Summer School Emerging digital practices in archaeological research Athena RC Period 28 June 3 July 2015 Description of the TNA offered The goal is to enable researchers and professionals to engage with cutting edge and emerging digital practices of archaeological research ranging from new methods to capture organize and curate fieldwork information to new approaches to archaeological interpretation and dissemination mediated by digital infrastructures The TNA will provide ca 20 researchers already engaged to some extent in digitally enabled work innovators early adopters and early majority researchers in Rogers diffusion of innovation model with a structured format to share discuss and elaborate innovative research practices and methods Format The TNA will focus on a detailed elaboration of a small number of scenarios or digitally enabled archaeological research that make use of emerging digital infrastructures tools and services put in the context of select methodological sources on digital archaeology bringing together the research experiences of participants and leveraging the ARIADNE registry and other information systems

    LoCloud Services and Europeana data The Services include The MORe repository Enrichment services background linking and vocabulary matching Geolocation service Geocoding application Historic placenames service Vocabulary services Wikimedia application Participants should bring their own laptops with any kind of development environment setup and be familiar with technologies like REST XML JSON RDF Virtual Machines Linux based can be provided if needed Participants can create their own applications e g a web based app or a mobile app create their own metadata enrichment services in any programming language through MORe s virtual enrichment driver VED and plug them in directly into the enrichment process Participants will demonstrate their services at the end of the Hackathon to participants and a panel of judges from LoCloud and Europeana who will vote for the most innovative application service The winner of the completion will win a prize of a Moto 360 smartwatch Provided information services All participants will be provided with sample content which will be made available both for download and though REST endpoints The sample content will be encoded in XML all information on the respective metadata schemas will be provided in English Other useful information such as thesauri will also be provided through REST in one of the three following formats XML RDF JSON APIs are available for the MORe aggregator and the LoCloud enrichment services http support locloud eu that developers can use to build their own applications The APIs are REST based and make use of one of the three following formats XML RDF JSON Documentation is available online for the APIs and examples will also be provided Venue The Hackathon will take place at the Google Cultural Institute in Paris https www google com culturalinstitute thelab Lab de l Institut Culturel de Google Google France 8 rue de
