    Foreign Language Teaching Lifelong Learning RESEARCH Research Indicators Research Committee Library and Information Centre Research Centres Archaeological Excavation Projects Museums Archives Collections ADMINISTRATION Administrative Bodies Administration Services Internal Regulation Network Communications and Information Services LIFE IN AUTH Academic calendar Services Culture Student Unions You are here Home Criminology Museum Attempts to establish the Criminology Museum as part of the Laboratory of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki began in 1944 when the laboratory first opened The first collector of evidence Professor Iliakis 1944 1954 collected and recorded exhibits laying thus the foundations for the establishment of the Museum The professors who served as head of the laboratory the majority of whom were medical examiners contributed to the establishment and development of the museum Inspired just like his predecessors by his love for the Museum the Associate Professor of Forensic Medicine Panagiotis Epivatianos landscaped in 1990 a space in the basement of the Laboratory of Forensic Medicine next to the morgue where all the exhibits were transferred The Museum was housed there until 2004 In 2004 the morgue the storerooms the dark room and the waiting room were renovated The old space where the Museum was housed

  • University Project "Òpera Oberta" | ARISTOTLE UNIVERSITY OF THESSALONIKI
    among students worldwide To this end it offers the participating institutions an academic program that includes five broadcasts per academic year The opera works are broadcasted to participating institutions with high quality encrypted network transmissions IP Multicast Streaming on specific dates during the academic year and are associated with acquiring academic credits to registered students Aristotle University of Thessaloniki The participation is implemented through the broadcasting of high quality network streams of opera compositions from the Gran Teatre del Liceu to the Teloglion Arts Foundation of A U Th and their integration into an horizontal academic program under the coordination of the School of Music Studies of A U Th Broadcasts are transmitted using multicast IP from the Liceu to the Catalan Research and Education Network managed by CSUC which is connected to the Spanish RedIRIS network The high speed pan European GÉANT network then transmits the performances across the continent to GRNET in Greece and finally to A U Th network infrastructure Each academic year courses from Schools and Faculties of A U Th affiliated in any way with the art of opera eg drama musicology theater design iconography history etc register to the program Students enrolled in these courses attend the opera broadcasts and joint lectures designed by instructors of the registered courses earning academic credits through their respective curricula The program also involves the participation of students in the technical production of the transmissions the translation realization and sharing of the educational content in Greek and English languages and aims at the participation in the subtitling of live broadcasted opera plays In 2013 2014 the translation of educational content was realized in the context of the Post Graduate Masters Programme in Conference Interpreting and Translation specialization in Translation Faculty of Philosophy of A U Th Details The
