  • Primary Health Care Centre of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki | ARISTOTLE UNIVERSITY OF THESSALONIKI
    Building K Karatheodori Ground floor University Campus 54124 Thessaloniki Greece Τ 30 2310 995569 Founded with the aim to provide all members of the university community with health care services the Primary Health Care Centre is an important innovative service offered by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Moreover the Centre promotes the development of integrated intervention plans assisted by a specialist in occupational medicine with the aim to maintain a safe hygienic and secure workplace as well as promoting the implementation of programmes of preventive medicine At present the clinic of the Centre located in a carefully landscaped area is open daily from 8 30am to 12 30pm and is staffed by two contracted doctors from the National Organization for Healthcare Provision known in Greek by the acronym EOPYY This service meets primary health care needs which include clinical examinations diagnostics and issuing of prescriptions within the framework of the electronic prescription system of the National Organization for Healthcare Provision whenever considered necessary by the doctor performing the examination Thus non hospital healthcare needs related to acute e g fever dizziness etc or chronic diseases which require medical monitoring of the patient and continuous medication are met It needs to be fully understood by all members of the university community that issuing a prescription is not an administrative act on the contrary it requires special medical knowledge applied by a doctor to address the health problems of a patient and meet his her needs for medication That is issuing a prescription is a medical act and the doctor signing the relevant document is fully responsible for it This is also the reason why the patient has to be present when medication is prescribed in order to be reexamined and if necessary help the doctor change the prescription In other words

    Unions You are here Home Seismological Station Address Seismological Station AUTh 43 Prof Vizoukidis Street 40 Ekklisies 54636 Thessaloniki Greece Τ 30 2310 991401 30 2310 991402 F 30 2310 991403 E http seismology geo auth gr ss The Seismological Station of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki was founded in 1978 and is part of the Department of Geophysics of the School of Geology of the university It is the central station of a network of 37 telemetric seismological stations which covers a large part of the country Its mission is to monitor record and analyze the seismic activity in Greece and the surrounding areas on a 24 hour basis as well as provide the authorities and citizens with information about earthquakes whenever necessary Within the framework of creating a National Network of Seismographs the Seismological Station of the Aristotle University and the Institute of Geodynamics National Observatory of Athens provide information about earthquakes felt by local populations The personnel of the Seismological Station consist of faculty members of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki scientists experts in earthquake management as well as postgraduate students of the Department of Geophysics The Seismological Station promotes the cooperation between Greek and European agencies

    and Information Services LIFE IN AUTH Academic calendar Services Culture Student Unions You are here Home Student Halls of Residence Τ 30 2310 210315 30 2310 208044 30 2310 214168 30 2310 536322 Three Halls of Residence located in the area of 40 Ekklisies are available to students of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as well as one branch located in the former Egnatia Hotel 11 Leontos Sofou street The Student Halls of Residence are administered by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki The Student Halls of Residence accommodate approximately 1 500 students who are provided with a full array of amenities These include ceremony halls sports facilities dining halls which offer meals to all eligible students quiet study rooms cafés and computer rooms with free access to the Internet a wireless network WiFi etc Undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as PhD candidates who come from large and or low income families are entitled to free accommodation Social and economic criteria are considered for the selection of the students eligible to be accommodated in the halls Students are entitled to stay in the halls during the entire period of their studies provided the extension period does not exceed two years

    in charge of the programme since 1986 Thanks to the UNESCO chair the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is linked with international IGO s UNESCO UNICEF etc with the global network of 655 UNESCO chairs and with 62 UNESCO UNITWIN networks in 770 universities located in 126 countries with the network of 41 European universities which collaboratively offer the Master s Programme in Human Rights and Democratization as well as with many other international and Greek NGOs The activities of the Chair include The UNESCO chair at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki organizes a An inter faculty interdisciplinary programme focused on Education for Human Rights and Peace entitled Contemporary World Problems and the Scientist s Responsibility An Interdisciplinary Approach undergraduate level The programme is offered to all students of the Aristotle University and lectures are given by faculty members of the Aristotle University and other Greek universities as well as by representatives of international organizations More than 100 faculty members have given lectures so far 1994 2011 These faculty members are appointed to 35 schools of the Aristotle University School of Psychology School of Law School of Philosophy and Pedagogy Faculty of Medicine School of Veterinary Medicine School of Physics School of Chemistry etc as well as to other Greek universities University of Macedonia University of Thessaly University of Ioannina University of the Aegean Democritus University of Thrace etc More than 100 different issues related to the subject matter of the programme have been discussed Over 4000 students have enrolled in the programme and attended courses 1994 2010 The programme focuses mainly on Various aspects of global environmental problems natural resources and their distribution international organizations and their contribution to the solution of international problems international efforts for the protection of human rights positive and negative uses of nuclear energy chemical and biological welfare AIDS drugs child neglect and abuse illiteracy social exclusion the UNESCO programmes for the creation of a culture of human rights and peace philosophy and the practice of non violence etc b A graduate studies programme on Human Rights and Democratization The programme is offered collaboratively by 41 universities from all member states of the European Union administered by the European Inter university Centre for Human Rights and Democratization located in Venice and funded by the European Union Several IGOs such as UNESCO participate in the programme Within the context of this programme the UNESCO chair offers an interdepartmental programme to foreign students who conduct research for their MA thesis at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki supervised by its faculty members 36 faculty members from 10 Schools of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Psychology School of Law School of Philosophy and Pedagogy School of English Language and Literature etc have participated in the programme so far 1998 2010 along with representatives of international organizations UNESCO UNICEF and institutions such as the Greek Ombudsman for Children s Rights and others The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is one of the founding universities of the programme and serves
