    the framework provided by the Operational Programme Education and Lifelong Learning and co funded by the European Union European Social Fund and national resources The students who participate in the Programme benefit in the following ways They familiarize themselves with the work environment and they are offered the opportunity to fulfill tasks that are directly related to their field of study They get acquainted with market trends and the skills required They are given the opportunity to demonstrate and put into practice the skills and knowledge they have acquired during their studies They begin to acclimate to the work environment and receive information necessary for them to choose wisely what is best for themselves both at a personal and professional level General information about the AUTh Student Practice Programme The programme provides students with training for a specific period of time ranging from one 1 to four 4 months in private and civil services that provide internship placements The programme provides for the payment of the wages of the interns as well as for their monthly insurance contributions covering health and accident compensation costs The students of the Faculties Schools of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki who participate in the programme can do their internship locally in the city of Thessaloniki or in any other city in Greece It needs to be noted that accommodation costs are not covered Undergraduate students from the 23 Faculties Schools of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki which take part in the Student Practice Programme are entitled to participate in the programme provided they are in the last year of their studies and have acquired adequate knowledge to meet the demands of the internship Each Faculty School sets additional criteria for selecting students who will participate in the programme Faculty member in charge of the

  • European Credit Transfer System | ARISTOTLE UNIVERSITY OF THESSALONIKI
    European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students and its aim is to promote the processes of recognition of study among cooperating institutes in Europe It was first used in the academic year 1992 93 and it enables students to recognize the part of their studies that was realized in universities abroad More specifically ECTS is a system for the transfer of credits among European Universities This is achieved through the support of transparency in their study programmes and student achievements ECTS reflects the content structure equivalence and correspondence of academic programmes which are quality criteria for University Institutes participating in the programme and defined by the latter in such a way as to create appropriate conditions for cooperation agreements ECTS credits of each course reflect or correspond to the workload theory laboratories seminars projects examinations required from the student for the successful completion of the course That is ECTS is based on the total workload of the student and is not limited to course hours The basic ECTS principles are as follows Credits are distributed to courses in such a way as the workload of one academic year corresponds to 60 credits 60 ECTS credits equal studies of two semesters 30 30 or three quarters 20 20 20 Universities have to organize a full course programme offered to foreign students including the number of credits corresponding to each course Before departure of the outgoing student for a foreign country the home institution will have to sign a learning agreement with the host university and the student The agreement will clearly describe the student s programme of study abroad and will be accompanied by a Transcript of Records which will document the academic performance of the student The host university will provide the student with a Transcript of

    Unions You are here Home EDUCATION Diploma Supplement In 2012 the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki was awarded the Diploma Supplement Label from the the European Commission The Diploma Supplement is a personal document attached to a higher education degree in order to make it easier for third persons particularly persons in another country to understand what the diploma means in terms of knowledge and competences acquired by its holder The Diploma Supplement was designed by UNESCO and the Council of Europe and was adopted by the European Parliament in 2004 Decision No 2241 2004 EC on a single Community framework for the transparency of qualifications and competences The Diploma Supplement is a document which provides information on the nature level context content and status of the studies that were pursued and successfully completed by the individual who holds the original degree to which the DS is attached It is free from any value judgements equivalence statements or suggestions about recognition The Diploma Supplement does not replace the original degree does not give any entitlement to formal recognition of the original diploma by academic authorities of other countries The Diploma Supplement was established in article 15 of Law 3374 Government Gazette
